Your wedding isn’t a photoshoot…

Relaxed, documentary wedding photography for couples who want to spend their wedding with the people they love — not posing for photos.

The way I see a wedding…

Spend your wedding at your wedding.

You've spent months planning a day with all of your favourite people in one place.

I don't think you should spend half of it disappearing off for photographs.

For most of the day I'll simply let things happen and photograph them. No recreating moments, no stopping things because the light is better somewhere else, and very little direction.

Mostly, I just watch

For most of the day you won't need to think about the photography at all. I'll be looking for the reactions, little moments and ridiculous things happening around you while you get on with enjoying your wedding.

His documentary style was exactly what we hoped for—natural, unobtrusive, and full of genuine emotion.

Yes, we’ll get family photos

Documentary doesn't mean you can't have the important group photographs. I normally recommend around six groups and we'll get through them quickly — usually in about 10–15 minutes.

Absolutely blown away by these. The way you have captured the beauty, emotion and happiness of the day is nothing short of perfect.

And photos of the two of you

We'll disappear for a short walk at some point and get some relaxed portraits together. Nothing elaborate, no endless posing, and then I'll send you straight back to your guests.

For the most part, Colin seemed invisible; he was never getting in anyone’s way, everyone around him felt at ease but at the same time, we knew all of our cherished moments were being captured.

Hate having your photo taken?

Great, most of my couples do.

Most of the couples I photograph tell me they're awkward in front of a camera. Luckily, you don't need to be good at having your photo taken.

For most of the day you won't be posing at all. When we do take a few photos of the two of you, I'll give you enough direction that you're not left wondering what to do with your hands.

We'll have a quick wander, take some great photos and get you back to your wedding.

We can’t thank Colin enough for our incredible wedding photos! We specifically wanted a documentary style photographer as neither I nor Ollie feel comfortable posing for the camera so finding the right photographer was a really big deal for us.
— Dianka & Ollie

I'm based in Hereford and photograph weddings throughout Herefordshire and across the UK.

Over the years I've photographed weddings at most of the brilliant venues around here, as well as barns, castles, country houses, city centres and the occasional field in the middle of nowhere.

Wherever you're getting married, the approach stays the same — I'll photograph the people and everything happening around you rather than turning your wedding into a photoshoot.

Hi, I'm Colin

I'm naturally much happier watching what's going on than being the centre of attention, which is probably why documentary wedding photography suits me so well.

Give me a room full of people and I'll happily spend the day looking for the funny, emotional and beautiful things happening around me.

Away from weddings, I'm usually at home with my wife, probably painting Warhammer figures, planning another trip to somewhere, or being harassed by our chickens.
