Cardiff Street Photography with the Fuji X100 (WCL + TCL)

The Fuji X100+TCL Street Photography - Edited in VSCOcam

Following on from my reviews of my newly purchased Wide Conversion Lens and Tele Conversion Lens (click to see the reviews) I've put together a street photography blog using both these adapters and some without, this 3 lens setup is a great bit of kit for street photography and fits very nicely into a small bag.

All the work here is done on the high streets and back alleys of Cardiff which is a great place for street photography, plenty of subjects and space and always something going on.

The TCL is great for keeping your distance and isolating a subject as well as creating some nice compression.

The WCL gives a nice wide field of view allowing for getting more background in a scene and drawing the viewer in, it's also great for when your up close to a subject.

I have mentioned before how street photography influences my wedding work, it provides some great subjects and the art of capturing candid photos is one that can always be improved and taking to the streets is a great practice ground.

One very important element is confidence. For me taking these photos in my wedding downtime (the winter months) helps keep me fresh and ready to work, but also keeps me confident in my shooting, I feel so much comfortable doing a wedding after a 3 month break if I've been taking photos of people in this way than if not.

As with everything you never stop learning and in March I'm heading to London for a street photography workshop with Kevin Mullins which I'm really looking forward to, street photography isn't something I've been taught or really done with other people so I'm really looking forward to this, and of course a blog post will follow.

That's all for now, enjoy the photos and feel free to leave a comment below.

Cheers, Col-
