Joy & Phil / Hereford Wedding Photography at Lyde Court

On the morning of a somewhat overcast and wet Valentines day in 2014 I set out to photograph the wedding of Joy & Phil down at the great Lyde Court in Herefordshire.

If this venue sounds familiar its because I have shot here before and as always it was set out perfectly with hundreds of candles, shabby chic furniture and rustic charm.

I started the day by grabbing some details of the venue then onto a little bridal prep, soon enough it was onto the service in the main barn, we then did a few family photos followed by an evening of celebration.

One of the things I love about shooting in Lyde Court is the mixed lighting, you have spotlights, candles and fairy lights dotted all over the venue all of this combined gives a very warm feel to the place and such an atmosphere for photographs.

The rest of the day saw some great speeches and people pulling out their best moves for the evenings entertainment, overall it was a fantastic day and I can't wait till I get to shoot here again!

Gear wise I shot this wedding using the Fuji XE1 + X100 cameras with the 35mm + 60mm lenses,  the small size meant I could really get in there with people and not feel imposing. The dancing shots were lit with an on-camera Yongnuo 560ii on the X100, with a dragged shutter wide open.

Many thanks go to Joy and Phil for having me there on your wedding day, it really was great and such a pleasure to be there for you on your special day, which was just a great event to photograph.

If you are planning a wedding at Lyde Court then do get in touch-
