Kelly & Tom / A Heaton House Farm Wedding near Macclesfield

When it came to shooting Kelly and Toms wedding the word excited would just not do, I have known Kelly for my entire life after growing up as children, so to be photographing her wedding was a real honour.

Kelly and Toms plans for their wedding sparked my excitement earlier in the year when we first met to discuss their arrangements. The whole day took place at Heaton House Farm, this is just a stunning venue for weddings, great layout, great decor, great views, they know how to host a wedding and have the perfect venue to do so, so well done to them.

Back to the wedding at hand, the day started of with bridal prep and a few shots of the finishing touches being put to the venue, as I've mentioned in previous posts, this is the perfect way to start off the day, once the bride was ready it was time for the dress reveal.

Doing away with tradition, and in my eyes a fantastic way of doing things, Kelly and Tom were to walk down the aisle together, but before that they still wanted the surprise factor of not seeing each other before. Luckily we had full reign of the private gardens at Heaton House Farm to conduct a little photoshoot, a few surprise shots and some light posing lead to some fantastic shots, then it was onto the service.

The service was just great, the brides father and grooms mother taking this chance to give speeches they had prepared, this gave the ceremony a real personal touch, an idea I would highly recommend.

We then headed outside via some confetti to a drinks reception and garden games, this venue has stunning views so we also took this time to do the posed shots we had planned, this was quickly over then we headed inside to get ready for the wedding breakfast.

Being a guest as well as the photographer meant I also had a place at the wedding breakfast, this gave me a chance to relax and get some much needed food in me. Afterwards were the speeches and then a quiz, with questions about the couple, then back into the lounge for more drinks and the start of the evening.

A great band headed up the evening dancing, with all the guests getting involved, some amazing dance moves being knocked out and just  a fantastically entertaining evening.

This wedding was special to me as I know the couple and have met many of the guests before, it was a strange feeling but ultimately one of great pride and pleasure, the whole day was perfect and just a real treat for any wedding photographer.

To Kelly and Tom, many thanks for asking me to be your guest as well as your photographer for your wedding, I wish you all the joy in the world, which before long you will have traveled most of!
