Iceland | Planning for my next trip!

It's now been well over a year since my last visit to the beautiful country that is Iceland, you can see some of my past work [all shot on Fuji's] at the link, and I've decided to share a few unpublished photos here and talk a bit about what I've got planned for my next trip.

So why do I want to keep going back here? I've been to Iceland 3 times now, the first of which is what got me into photography in the first place and where I took a whole host of terrible photos but learnt what I was doing wrong. You can read about my first year over at here. I also had an awesome time each time I've been and it's a place like no other I've been, impressive landscapes and waterfalls with hidden secrets and breathtaking sights, all of this for a fairly cheap plane ticket form the UK, a place thats super easy to get around and navigate and one that you will really fall in love with.

Even after the last time of visiting during a fairly snowy season and we totalled our rental car I still want to go back, admittedly I'd like to go in the summer, the northern lights are hard to see and that 24 hours sunlight is too good to miss!

It looks a lot worse than it was, we were all fine.

My next plans for visiting Iceland are now for 2016, going to spend a year planning (and paying) for the trip with friends in the late spring, this should hopefully give a nice mix of long days and good weather whilst still having some snow on the mountains. This trip will be for several purposes, the first is to scout out locations, and plan for running landscape tours out there, this is a long term project I'm working on with a few other people, the end goal is to be taking delegates out in 2017 for short term photo tours. The other part of the trip is to shoot material for Delve Magazine, another project I'm part of, including content for what will hopefully be a printed issue all about Icelandic culture, food and travel. It's still early days will all this but the planning is underway and Iceland awaits!!

In regards to other travel I'll hopefully be getting out and about this summer to some UK locations, I'm thinking pack up the car, grab the tent and do a little tour of the south coast, Durdle door and all those iconic landscape spots, and as always this will be right up on the blog!

Enjoy a few more images of my last iceland trip, and if your interested in a photo tour then do get in touch as I'd love to hear what people think and what they would like to see!

Cheers, Col-
