The Photography Show / What's Coming for Fujifilm?

So it's that time of year again where I return from the Photography show at the NEC fresh with some new images of whats coming for our Fujifilm cameras and just a bit about the show in general.

I myself made a couple of purchases this year, mainly a Fuji Xpro-1, besides the fact that this camera is old hat now I've always liked the design and just how it feels, so this year due to some amazing bargains I got myself one, well I actually got 2, sold all the parts + lenses except one body and basically got a free Xpro-1, more about this in a future blog post.

I made a good few stops to the fuji stand and tried out some of the new gear heres a brief rundown of what I thought in the very short time I had to play with the gear:

16-50mm 2.8 Lens

Nice looking lens, feels good in the hand, the constant F2.8 is nice and will suit some people but for me I prefer my primes and without the OIS you're still going to struggle in very low light.

50-140mm 2.8 Lens

Very big lens, which for me is a deal breaker, but will suit some people as this is your 70-200 lens, it does perform very well and the range is incredible useful but for me a little too big.

35mm F2

35mm F2

Of course Fuji did their usual thing of showing us some mock ups of the lenses in their roadmap, I got a few shots of these to see how things are coming along, we have the new 35mm F2 lens which is a great looking bit of kit, nice and small so this is going to be a great walkabout lens, or make a nice addition if you have just got into the system and only have the zoom for example.

90mm F2 - After a diet.

Then we have the much anticipated 90mm F2 which in this years mock up is much smaller, still just as long but more on the thin side, this lens will be great to try out as your telephoto, interested to see what price tag they will put on this.

120mm F2.8 & 90mm F2 [in the corner]

Then there is the 120mm 2.8 with OIS, now I think this is going to be a very good seller, as its nice and small has OIS and a nice fast aperture, sure you could get the 50-140 but my hopes are that this lens will be a nice chunk cheaper than the zoom.

16mm F1.4

The 16mm F1.4 looks like a very nice lens, and has the clutch focus ring which I'm now loving on the 23mm, this should be interesting to se how it fair because I think a lot of people are going to make this their wide angel of choice.

There was the super zoom, but this wasn't much different from what it has been, very big, very heavy [I'm guessing] also invested to se how the X mount will hold up to taking that much weight, only time will tell.

Once again the show was great, really nice to play with all the gear that was there and chat to a few people, other things I saw were the Lytro which i wasn't impressed with and some awesome Black Magic Design Cameras which I'm keen to try more of.

Thats it form me this week, lots more in the pipeline including a Fuji Xpro-1 Review, 23mm Review and a few weddings to blog.

Thanks for stopping by, cheers,
